Jorge H. Foglietta established his engineering consulting practice with J.H.Foglietta Consulting LLC. With more than 45 years of experience in process technology and project engineering for the hydrocarbon processing industries his specific fields of experience include gas processing, petroleum refining and LNG. He has held responsibilities that included strategic technology planning, technology development, process design, evaluation of facilities, design and selection of process equipment, safety analysis, construction, plant start-ups and operations troubleshooting.
His Gas processing experience includes the design, engineering and startup of several major NGL turboexpander units, nitrogen rejection plants, gas conditioning units, NGL fractionation, development of LNG technology, sulfur recovery and refinery fuel gas liquids recovery units. Mr. Foglietta developed and co-developed more than 15 patents in the area of cryogenic gas processing and LNG. In 2017 one of these developments, NGL-MAX™, was awarded and recognized as the best gas processing technology.
Refining experience includes projects for both engineering and operating companies having fluid handling of all the commercial processes of the refining industry, e.g. crude distillation, catalytic cracking, delayed coking, catalytic reforming, polymerization, hydrogenation, alkylation, lube oil processing and asphalt blowing.
Petrochemical experience includes major petrochemical complex studies involving technologies for Ethylene, BTX, MTBE, methanol, dimerization, synthesis gas and oxy-alcohols, and fertilizers.
He began his career in Argentina where he worked for 12 years holding positions as process engineer and project engineer at Esso Argentina, Degremont, Shell CAPSA, and Tauro Engineering. In 1989 he established in Houston, Texas, and began working for Fish Engineering & Construction Inc. as a Sr. Process Engineer.
In 1994 he joined ABB Randall as Manager of Process Engineering, then became Director of Process Technology with the newly formed Randall Gas Technologies within ABB Lummus Global.
In October of 2005, he became President and General Manager of Tecna Engineering LLC, in Houston.He earned an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1976. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and is a Professional Licensed in Chemical Engineering, Texas since 1997.
He has been an active member of the Gas Processors Association (GPA) Facilities Design Committee for more than 25 years, Co-Chairing the Forum for more than 10 years. Additionally, he also serves on the Gas Processing Suppliers Association (GPSA) Engineering Data Book Editorial Review Board. Since 2010, Member of the Advisory Committee of the Laurance Reid Gas Conditioning Conference.
Throughout his career he attended numerous post graduate courses including, but not limited to, piping design, reforming/olefins plant design, aromatics plant design, safety in design, oil refining, project engineering management, stress analysis, oil dehydration and desalting, sulfur plants, strategic marketing, Process Safety Management, HAZOP studies, and quality auditing.
Guillermo S. Castagneto joined J.H.Foglietta Consulting LLC. in November of 2017 as Associate Executive Consultant.
With more than 40 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry , he has been working in Engineering and Construction Companies as well as in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production (E&P) Industry.
His specific fields of experience include gas processing and crude oil treating facilities.
In Engineering companies he participated in major projects for gas processing units holding responsibilities that included conceptual process design, planning and process design, evaluation of facilities, design and selection of process equipment, safety analysis,
construction, plant startāups and operations troubleshooting.
In the E&P industry he was Corporate Manager of Facilities Engineering, with responsibilities for project engineering and execution worldwide.
This includes the large Camisea Project in Peru, processing 1.87 Bscfd in five cryogenic facilities to extract natural gas liquids in the Central Peruvian Amazonian area, and a 100,000 bpd NGL Fractionation and Export Terminal in Pisco, by the Pacific Ocean.
Gas processing experience includes the conceptual process design, engineering and startup of several major NGL turboexpander units, mechanical refrigeration gas conditioning, and NGL fractionation units. In this position he was technically accountable for the Conceptual, Basic and Detail Engineering for the projects with Corporate responsibilities.
He developed his career in Argentina where he worked for 37 years holding positions as process engineer and project engineer at Alicanto S.A. and Tauro Engineering. In 2001, he was incorporated at Pluspetrol S.A. in the Facilities Engineering area working in several project of Gas Processing and Oil Treatment plants in Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and recently Angola, ensuring proper development and execution in accordance to internal standards and best practices of the Oil & Gas Industry.
He earned an MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1980.
Throughout his career he attended numerous post graduate courses including , but not limited to Project Engineering , Process Safety in Design, Management Development Program, Soft Competences in Human Resources.
